Image search and content with Creative Commons licenses
http://search.creativecommons.org/
This search engine searches the search engines filter content to show only the most important results of content licensed by Creative Commons.
Remember that Creative Commons licenses are formed from a combination of these aspects according to the permissions assigned to the author wants his work:
- Recognition (Attribution): In any exploitation of the work authorized by the license must acknowledge authorship.
- Noncommercial (Non commercial) exploitation of the work is limited to noncommercial uses.
- No Derivative Works (No Derivate Works): The authorization to exploit the work does not include the transformation to create a derivative work.
- Share Alike (Share Alike): The operation includes the creation of unauthorized derivative works provided you keep the same license to be disclosed.
The Attribution-Share Alike (by-sa), is equivalent to free software licenses, any use allowed while the authors recognize and share the work with the same license.
But we must take into account that not all Creative Commons licenses are so permissive. If the content we seek to make commercial use or derivative works, the search engine should mark the boxes use for "commercial purposes" and / or modify, Adapt, or build upon, so that the filter also acts on contents that do not allow such actions.
It should be noted that the search does not offer guarantees, and that we should always check the license of the image on your page of origin or by contacting the author.
The Creative Commons search is also available as add-on for Mozilla Firefox: http://wiki.creativecommons.org/MozCC .
